Community Sustainable Development Stewards

We believe that every community has a responsibility to their surrounding environment.
It is in this spirit that ITCF builds the capacity of communities and facilitate them to initiate activities that utilize their environment in a more Eco-based form and with sustainable and resilient aspects kept in mind and in actions from community members, by omunity members and for the community members.
In many parts of the world, communities are using their land, water and other natural resources in unsustainable ways — simply because there is no economic alternative. ITCF’s sustainable agenda aims to restructure the world grassroots order by designing means , modes and systems that present ITCF members with viable green economic benefits, household resilience and growth sustainably within reach, locally presented to ensure an acute understanding of the approaches, steps to growth and means to sustainable life. We believe that one sociolect-economic pillar at the heart of the grassroots community can support the rest of the untapped pillars for growth to be enacted to help us bridge the gap of conserving global resources and interlink the conservation impacts to grassroots development.

Bridging Conservation & Development

When conservation offers concrete benefits to rural farmers and local communities, protecting the environment becomes an increasingly viable and attractive choice. Our Conservation Stewards Program (CSP) partners with communities who agree to protect their natural resources — and the benefits they provide — in exchange for compensation from investors. This approach helps conserve biodiversity while improving the quality of life for local communities. CSP’s conservation agreement model offers direct incentives for conservation through a co-designed benefit package in return for conservation actions by communities.
Thus, a conservation agreement links conservation funders — governments, bilateral agencies, private sector companies, foundations, individuals and others — to people who own and use natural resources. Benefits typically include investments in community enterprises, regenerative agriculture, strengthening communal governance, and social services like health and education. Benefits can also include direct payments and wages for conservation actions like monitoring and patrolling protected areas. The size of these benefit packages depends on the cost of changes in resource use, as well as conservation performance. Rigorous monitoring verifies both conservation and socioeconomic results.

Green Savings & Loans Program.[GS&LP]

The Green Savings and Loans Program (GSLP) constitutes a thriving initiative integrated into various ITCF initiatives, fostering the establishment of saving groups within local communities. These savings groups, comprising 20 to 35 individuals, convene regularly to deposit their funds securely, access modest loans, and acquire emergency insurance.
Since its inception , the GSLP model has played a pivotal role in supporting over 1 million group member in enhancing their access to and control over financial resources. Augmented with tools that involve men, community stakeholders, and market participants, GSLP participants experience heightened influence over household decisions and broader spheres. In addition to ITCF's involvement, GSLP routinely provide mutual support to establish small enterprises, negotiate equitable prices in markets, advocate for gender parity in communities, and pursue public representation.

ITCF’s Endeavors in GSL Products

The ITCF's GSL product empower the most Undeserved communities and the vulnerable to effectively save and invest small sums of money for initiating new businesses.
