The ITCF Sustainable Green Tourism Programme aims to accelerate sustainable Green Tourism Consumption[fee plastic business space] and Production (SGTCP) in tourism policies and practices to address the challenges of pollution, biodiversity loss and climate change. It promotes knowledge sharing and networking opportunities to define collective priorities and identify solutions. Through its work, the Sustainable Tourism Programme sets the STP agenda in the tourism industry to advance the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 12 and also delivers progress under connected goals, such as SDG13, SDG14 and SDG15, respectively on climate action and the protection of Aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

Tourism is the main industry causing carbon footprints and destruction of nature. Natural tourist attractions are attracting the highest number of tourists around the globe. The significant effort of every travel operators to encourage tourists to practice Eco-friendly behavior is important. The natural existence of those tourist destinations relies in the hand of locals who lives there. So participation of local people in nature conservation and profits from tourism can help conserve nature both in its anthropogenic and natural statuses. Travel industry can play a major role in protecting nature as well as create awareness for the sake of responsible lifestyle.
The diversified tourism market and the capacity of socially influential travelers is an asset to create a chain of moment towards nature conservation and sustainable practices. Use of modern technology, accessibility and knowledge will help gain the Sustainable Development Goals with ease once people are aware of climate change impacts.
A research also suggests that the social networking sites positively influence the post-consumption experience stage of the travel cycle by providing adequate tools and services to smart tourists to evaluate their experience and share it with their peers and friends, mainly posting reviews, photos and recommendations on social networking sites, with the aim of advocating for sustainable practices and influencing other tourists to behave in a similar responsible manner.
Reducing the carbon footprints of tourism industry in ecologically vital areas and raising awareness among travelers to be Eco-friendly is crucially important. At the same time those who are living with nature in natural tourist destinations should be encouraged to protect the nature making it a value for their living and contribution against climate change. Use of locally produced daily items, no leaving behind the wastes in travel destinations, no use of plastic during travel, no use of luxury services brought up by the use of fossil fuels and non renewable energy sources and daily lessons, workshops about the ecological importance of each travel destinations will be regulated among the travelers.
Nature is in the hand of those human beings who resides close to them and unfortunately also in the hands of corrupted policy makers around the world. So making the locals living near natural resources independent of what they can do to protect the natural tourist attractions from which they are earning should help protect environment effectively.

  • Travel industries involvement and scale-able efforts on leaving no tourist footprints in any touristic destination . • Recognition of the most active action adopter company by global media coverage as a message to climate change deniers.
  • Establishment of climate indices measurement centers costing minimal budget around a thousand USD per center(Rough) in location with visibly poor environment qualities. To measure the current data versus the improvement data within course of time. We can prove the reverse of climate change.
  • Threshold of plastic use countrywide and the waste disposal management process of any organization will be monitored and reported.
